Useful Information

AGE

Age requirements renter must 25 years of age with a valid drivers license and a major credit card in his her own name. The minimum age is 23 years. Ages 23-24 add $25.00 cad per day surcharge. Underage surcharge will not appear in total pricing. Under 25 years we will not rent luxury and specialty vehicles.

DEBIT CARDS

Debit Cards American issued debit cards may be used to rent vehicles, cards must have the Visa or Mastercard logo. Canadian issued debit cards or Stored value / prepaid / gift cards are not acceptable to qualify for rental. Debit Cards without a Master Card or Visa logo are not accepted at the time of rental but may be used to pay for the rental upon return. Eligible debit cards must have the Visa, or Mastercard logo. Stored value / prepaid / gift cards are not acceptable to qualify for rental. The estimated amount of the rental plus an additional amount of $500.00 CAD will be assessed against your debit card at the time of rental. These funds will no longer be available for your immediate use and may take up to 14 days, depending on your bank, to become available. We will not be responsible for any returned check(s) or insufficient fund charges or bank fees related to this process. Reservation may not be altered at the time of rental. A confirmation of your reservation does not mean that your debit / check card is acceptable.

Drivers License

All drivers must be 21 years old, have a valid driver's license, ( Ontario Drivers must have full G licence )clean driving record, and present a major credit card in his/her own name at the time of rental. U.S. driver's licenses are valid in Canada. Qualifications for renters from countries outside the united states & canada. - Must have a valid drivers license from renters/drivers country of origin. - Must have a valid passport. -Must have a valid international drivers license if the drivers license of origin is not in Roman alphabet.

EARLY RETURN

The time and mileage or daily rate is subject to change, or a surcharge may be assessed, if the vehicle is returned before or after the due date or to a location other than the renting location. there are no refunds for early returns.

EMERGENCY INFO

Roadside Assistance Program If you purchase our Roadside Service Plan (RSP) we will waive all, or a portion of, the cost of a roadside assistance service call up to the amount of $125.00 CAD per incident. You may purchase RSP at $4.95 CAD per rental day. Benefits include emergency road service towing, winching, jump start, flat tire change, lockout service and emergency fuel delivery. Some restrictions apply; ask for a copy of an RSP brochure at the rental counter.

EQUIPMENT

Child seat for infant - $11.99 per day, $83.93 per week Child seat for toddler - $11.99 per day, $83.93 per week GPS system - $11.95 per day, $83.65 per week, subject to availability at time of rental

GAS

OPTION #1 BUY A TANK Vehicle is rented with a full tank. Purchase a full tank of fuel at the time of rental, bring the vehicle back with fuel at any level. Credit will not be issued for unused fuel. OPTION #2 WE FILL THE TANK Vehicle is rented with a full tank. Bring the vehicle back full to avoid a charge or we will refuel your vehicle based on the miles driven or level of the tank. A refueling service fee will apply per Litre.

GEOGRAPHIC

For arriving airline passengers: Kilometers are unlimited when the vehicle remains in the renting Province. If traveling outside of the Province, free kilometers are restricted to 200 free per day, 1,400 per week, 3,000 per month (maximum) for rentals exceeding 3 weeks, and .20 cents CAD for each additional KM driven during your entire rental. SEE LOCAL RENTER RESTRICTION POLICY. BORDER CROSSING: Vehicles entering the USA are subject to a border crossing fee of $12.95 CAD per day and kilometers are limited to 200 KM per day, 1.400 KM per week, 3,000 (maximum) for rentals exceeding 3 weeks and .20 cents CAD for each additional KM driven during the entire rental.

Insurance

Liability Insurance protects you against claims for injury you cause to third persons or their property. Liability insurance does not cover injury to you or damage to the rented vehicle. State and Country laws determine whether your personal auto liability insurance or our liability insurance will pay for injuries you cause to others while driving our vehicle." At this Location, you must provide proof of bodily injury and property liability Insurance that extends to Canada at the time of rental. Proof should include the name and address of the insurer and the policy number. We can elect not to rent to you if you do not present the required proof of insurance coverage. THE RENTER MUST PROVIDE PROOF IN THE FORM OF AN INSURANCE DECLARATION PAGE, SPECIFICALLY STATING COMPREHENSIVE AND COLLISION COVERAGE IS EFFECTIVE AND ENFORCED FOR THE DURATION OF THE RENTAL AGREEMENT (this also applies to the coverage that may be provided through credit card companies and third party companies that will be used at the time of rental). An insurance declaration page is the document that defines your coverage and limits. Insurance cards WILL NOT satisfy the requirement to provide an insurance declaration page for self-insurance.

If renter chooses to self insure and use /transfer their personal auto insurance for the rental car a Insurance transfer fee ITF of $4.99 /day will be charged .

LOCAL RENTERS

Unlimited kilometers apply to airline arriving customers only. Unlimited kilometers do not apply for local rentals. Ontario residents receive 200 free kms per day , 1,400 kms per week, 3,000 kms (maximum) on any rental exceeding 3 weeks and .20 cents for each additional Kilometer driven during the entire rental Border Crossing: Vehicles entering the USA are subject to a border crossing fee of $12.95 CAD per day kilometers are limited to 200 KM per day, 1.400 KM per week, 4,000 per month (maximum) for rentals exceeding 3 weeks, and .20 cents CAD for each additional KM driven during your entire rental.

MILEAGE

Unlimited kms do not apply for local rentals. Ontario residents receive 200kms D 1400 kms W Rental period exceeding 2 weeks or beyond will have only 1000 kms free per week with Max of 4000 km for 4 week rental

OPTIONAL PROTECTION PRODUCTS

Personal Accident /Effects Coverage $11.95 per day By purchasing optional PAC you and your passengers are insured against bodily injury, some medical payments and accidental death while occupying the rental vehicle, subject to all the terms, provisions, and exclusions of a group policy.

Payment

Prepaid Debit Cards

Customers who make a prepaid reservation using a debit card need to be aware that the renting location may require a credit card in the renters name be used for leaving a deposit for the rental in order to rent the car. Customers who do not have a credit card may be denied rental.

Reservation hold time

We will hold the reservation for 2 hours after the reserved time .Please contact location directly for any flight delays . If location is informed of any delay vehicle will be held as per your request.

RULES

Grace Period Rental is based on a 24-hour period. The client receives a 59-minute grace period. If he/she keeps the vehicle after this time, an hourly rate will apply from minute one. The time and mileage or daily rate is subject to change, or a surcharge may be assessed, if the vehicle is returned before or after the due date or to a location other than the renting location. There are no refunds for early returns. By renting a vehicle from Economy Rent A Car and Economy Rent A Car affiliates, you hereby agree that any and all disputes and controversies arising out of your reservations and your rental of the vehicle shall be resolved solely and exclusively by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association.

LOCATION IS WITHIN 1 KM RADIUS OF THE AIRPORT. OR CALL 905 671 9444 FOR FURTHER INFORMATION. Terminal 1 Train platform is located on Level 5 of the Terminal 1 Parking Garage. To get to the train platform from the terminal, take the West Pedestrian Bridge to the parking garage. Terminal 3 Train platform is located in the Terminal 3 Sheraton hotel pedestrian bridge. To access the train platform from the terminal, go to Level 3 of Terminal 3 and follow the signs up the escalator/elevator to the Sheraton hotel.

SMOKING

Location maintains a smoke free fleet. Smoking of any kind (cigarette, cigar, pipe, etc.) is prohibited in our rental vehicles. You will be assessed a cleaning fee of $200.00 CAD if the vehicle is returned smelling of smoke or littered with ashes.
